Our members are of mixed abilities from beginners to established artists and we offer each other inspiration, enthusiasm and encouragement. We hold workshops throughout the year tutored by local professional artists to improve our skills.
We have good attendance and great enthusiasm. Many members are now experimenting with different mediums, enjoying the challenges and producing great work.
We develop our individual styles while giving help and encouragement to each other when needed. Our group is currently full, however if you are interested in joining, I keep a waiting list as circumstances can change. So, please do contact me.
We enjoy each others company, have fun, coffee and biscuits to sustain us, while pursuing the art of painting.
February 2026
We have had our first meeting of 2026 - the early January meeting was cancelled due to adverse weather conditions.
After a successful 2025 and our first Christmas lunch, we are all looking forward to 2026 trying new techniques and offering each other support and expertise where we can.
We are, as a group, still fully subscribed but will take anyone interested on our waiting list.
We are working towards more workshops with professional artists during the coming year.
As the saying goes "Keep Painting!!"
August 2025
Our group continues to meet through the summer months. We have just been fortunate to have had another workshop with Gill Cairns, West Devon Artists. It was a most enjoyable and informative session. Consensus of opinion was that everyone gained some new and different expertise - all in all a very good session.
We continue to help and encourage each other, drawing from our own varied expertise.
We also recently had an enjoyable and informative workshop with professional local artist Sylvia Hofflund. The workshop was a four hour session. This amount of time was needed as we had a demonstration and then went on to practice the techniques before moving on to more expensive paper for the real thing.
Sylvia spent a considerable amount of time giving us all one to one advice and encouragement, which was much appreciated by all. We all worked hard on the subject of water and cliffs in a very loose, muted colour palette style. We all gained from the new techniques demonstrated and working from limited colours.
