This friendly group has recently moved to the 'Billacombe' (previously known as the "Anchorage") for its bi-weekly meetings, since we have started to increase in numbers. We welcome new members, indeed we are now not an all ladies group anymore!
A couple of hours of fun with the tiles, based on the card game of Rummy, but with a few twists!

Can you use a tile or two just laid by your opponents to clear your board to win? Not difficult to learn, a beverage from the Billacombe, a couple of hours community and a little grey matter is all that's required! Hope to see you soon.


Much like Rummy, the card game we've all played, this twist on the familiar game, is played with tiles rather than cards. In true "Rummy" style you'll need to gather consecutive numbers in the same colour, or three or four tiles identical tiles of different colours.

The twist is in the luck of the tiles and the strategy of repurposing tiles already laid by your opponents. Great for testing your memory, strategy and skill! The aim, to be the first to clear your tray of tiles, and to find those elusive joker tiles that will no doubt assist your efforts!

Our group includes players of all skill sets so whether you're an expert or a beginner who wants to stay sharp and play smarter, you're more than welcome to join us! We have players who had never heard of the game before joining us, and now look forward to improving their skill sets each meeting. Purchase a beverage, pull up a chair and enjoy a couple of interesting hours!

Welcoming new players, our group meets alternate Mondays, a little after 2pm. Our dates are as follows: June 1st and 15th and 29th.


How to Play
Here's a quick overview: The game requires a total of 30 tiles or more FOR EACH PLAYER to initially begin - just lay the chosen numerical RUN (all the same colour) or three or four tiles all the showing the same number, on the table for the other players to see, and eventually play off, once they too have a similar run totalling 30 or more and can then 'join'. If you check out the tiles in the image shown, the player holding these tiles, could choose to lay down the ORANGE 10 and 11 and 12 OR the orange 13, black 13 and the red 13 - as their first play. A player unable to lay 30 or more initially, must draw another tile, and wait until it's their turn again for a chance to start. After 'joining' you can continue to play by laying one or more tiles each time it's your turn, adding to your own or others - or you can steal to gain a play if you’re a certain tile short that's already been played, and is available to steal!!

The team are a great mix of beginners and more experienced and will take you through the next steps, it's really not that difficult. A couple of hours having fun, and building a community of like minds all attempting to clear their board of tiles and win the game!
